It was a night of the youth as we celebrate our Patronal Town Fiesta at Gamu, Isabela on August 21, 2017 with the theme: "St. Rose of Lima: Our inspiration for Holiness".
It was unfortunate that the mother of our guest speaker, Mayor Hilario Gabriel "Larry" Pagauitan just died. The show must go on, Mayor "Larry" (as many used to call him) has to go out of his way just to be with us in our town fiesta because of his commitment. He has to travel for hours leaving behind the wake of his mother and hurriedly went back just to be present to deliver his inspirational message. In the same manner, our parish priest, Fr. Angel B. Luga, went out of the hospital in Cauayan where he was confined just to welcome our guest speaker and Gamu Mayor Nestor Malasig Uy at the parish, also because of his commitment. "These are the people who knows what is the real meaning of commitment", Mayor Uy said in his closing remarks.
The night was full of fun and entertainment. It was a night of the youth, who showed their talents. Aside from the coronation of winners, many of them entertained us with their performances during the intermission numbers. A raffle was likewise conducted during the program. Mayor Larry Pagauitan delivering his inspirational message with St. Rose of Lima, the Patron Saint of Gamu as his example. He has been to Lima, Peru and has visited the place where St. Rose was born. He talked about the life of St. Rose and her virtues as a saint, "humility and the essence of giving and sharing to the poor and the needy are among the virtues that we as a Christian must practice with the life of Saint Rose of Lima as our inspiration", he said.
